Everything begins with a health deep dive! Clients fill out a 5-page health assessment form so I know what is going on with every aspect of the body. Then using Chinese Medicine Food Therapy I pick every ingredient with purpose. In Chinese Medicine every food affects the body in a specific way. This added layer brings a therapeutic element to our work together (even if nothing is wrong with your dog!). Do we have a dog that runs hot? Needs joint support? Is super active? Should lose a few pounds? All of these things determine what your plan looks like!

Yes! Therapeutic diets are my specialty! With that being said, I’m not a vet and will never pretend to be. Depending on the health issue, we may need further testing done through your veterinarian to have the proper information for your pet’s nutrition plan.

Chinese Medicine Food Therapy is a way of eating where food is seen as medicine. In Chinese Medicine we aim for balance throughout the whole body (think Yin & Yang). Where we most commonly talk about “symptoms” in Western medicine, in Eastern medicine we talk about “imbalances”. Food therapy harnesses how different foods affect the body in different ways to keep us in balance & healthy. As a simple example, if we have a dog that runs hot then we want to feed foods to cool them down. Food therapy takes nutrition to another level, where we aren’t just feeding “real food” but we are feeding with purpose.
